KINGSTON UNITED is OPDL

Helping Young Athletes Take the Next Step—Confidently.

Choosing the right environment for your child’s soccer development isn’t just about the league. It’s about the people, the philosophy, and the pathway. At Kingston United, we believe that great players aren’t found. They’re developed.

A True Player Pathway

*No Gimmicks. No Guesswork. Just Growth.

*We’re Not a Franchise. We’re a Family.

*Buliding a Path Forward - TOGETHER

WHY Kingston United and OPDL

We’re proud to be Eastern Ontario’s only truly local, community rooted OPDL program.
But what makes us different isn’t just geography. It’s our approach.

a true player pathway

Team Ontario & Canada Soccer scouting

Playing OPDL puts your child directly on the radar of provincial and national scouts.
Ontario Soccer uses the league as its primary evaluation ground for Team Ontario selection.
Top performers are invited to identification camps and showcases.
These events are stepping stones to the national program.
If your child dreams of wearing the maple leaf—it starts here.

College & university recruitment (NCAA/U SPORTS)

OPDL athletes regularly move on to play at the post-secondary level.
Scouts and coaches monitor league play and attend major events.
We provide players with highlight reels, references, and mentorship.
From U SPORTS to NCAA Division I, II, and III—opportunities are real.
OPDL opens academic and athletic doors.

Professional academies (MLS Next, CPL, NWSL)

Professional academies track OPDL players for early recruitment.
We’ve seen KU players progress to CPL, MLS Next, and beyond.
Our training mirrors academy environments—technical, tactical, mental.
It’s not just about being seen—it’s about being ready when you are.
This is where pro potential takes root.

No Gimmicks. No Guesswork. Just Growth.

Where Development Isn’t Left to Chance — It’s Built Into Everything We Do

Kingston United is built for success with a proven internal development structure that ensures a seamless high-performance pathway from Mini Kickers to OPDL.
As the only club in Kingston with an OPDL License, recently extended through 2027, we offer the highest level of youth programming in Ontario for U13-U17 players. This direct pathway ensures that top talent between Ottawa and the GTA is developed the right way, within our high-performance system under elite coaching staff.

At KU, players don’t need to look elsewhere to reach the next level. Our U17 OPDL graduates seamlessly transition into colleges, universities and the League1 Ontario program, ensuring a clear, structured progression within the club. For those bridging the gap between U17 OPDL and League1, we provide competitive playing opportunities in the OCSL U21 and Men’s/Women’s teams, keeping them within KU’s high-performance environment.

This is the KU way—structured, sustainable, and built for success

We’re Not a Franchise. We’re a Family.

Shaping the Future of High-Performance Soccer in Kingston with OPDL

OPDL is CORE to who we are.

Some clubs treat OPDL as a satellite program—licensed from afar, loosely connected, and designed to serve another region’s goals.
At Kingston United, OPDL is not a side offering. It’s the heartbeat of our club.

We are proudly Kingston-run, Kingston-staffed, and Kingston,
focused.
Every player, coach, and partnership is part of something real, a
development system built right here, for this community.
We’ve spent years investing in local coaches, many of whom came up through the very same pathway.
We’ve built lasting relationships with families, schools, and local
businesses who believe in what we do.

And more importantly, we’ve built a culture—a mindset that values humility, excellence, and character as much as technical skill.

When our players step on the field, they don’t carry someone else’s legacy. They carry Kingston’s. And they do it with pride. Our success isn’t measured by outside affiliations or borrowed logos, but by the growth of our players and the strength of our culture.

Success isn’t built on promises—it’s built on proven foundations. Kingston United already holds the National Youth Club License and OPDL status, demonstrating our ability to meet the highest
standards in Canadian soccer. While others may hope to reach this level, we are already here, providing a fully established high-performance pathway.

Is OPDL right for my child?

The Right Environment for Growth

Every child deserves to train in a place that’s safe, structured, and supportive.
OPDL at Kingston United offers a high-performance setting where development is intentional—not left to chance.
Players are surrounded by certified, experienced coaches who understand youth progression.
Training is tailored to individual growth, not just game-day performance.
We focus on the full picture—on and off the pitch

Real Development. Real Structure.

Our 10-month training program includes periodized sessions, mental skills development, and athletic support in strength, mobility, and recovery.
It’s not about playing more games—it’s about training with purpose.
Every session, every drill, every conversation is designed to move your child forward.
No guesswork. No chaos. Just clear, professional development, week after week.

A Fair Chance to Be Seen and Succeed

OPDL doesn’t rely on one-shot tryouts to choose players.
Instead, we use a transparent Talent ID process that gives every athlete time to show their ability, potential, and drive.
Our system identifies growth over time—not just performance on a single day.
If your child has talent, dedication, and the right mindset, they’ll be seen—and supported.
That’s the KU way.
